EXCURSION TO PICTON

_ The' Rangatira will make another excursion to Picton on Monday, 23rd January, leaving Wellington at 8 a.m. Picton will be reached about 10.30 a.m. and a train will leave directly afterwards for Blenheim, where passengers will have time to see the town or friends, and for luncheon before the train leaves again for Picton at 1.20 p.m. . The steamer Tuatea will also make a three-hour round trip of the upper parts of Queen Charlotte Sound, while launches will run to various beauty spots, where passengers can either picnic, or in some cases get lunch at accommodation houses nearby. Those who elect to remain in Pieton itself will find the foreshore greatly improved by the making of an esplanade and beach, where paddling, swimming, sun-bathing can bo enjoyed. The Rangatira will leave Picton on return about' 2 p.m., arriving in Wellington about 5 p.m.
