rAn anticyclone has been centred east of New Zealand, while a tropical cyclone has been located to the north-eastward and a deep depression has been advancing slowly over the Tasman Sea. Fine, warm, and. In places, sultry weather has been experienced, with moderate winds, mainly between north-east and northwest. In the far north, however; freshening easterly to south-easterly winds have prevailed, and since last night rain has fallen at places In that area. At 9 a.m. to-day it was showery also at Napier and Westport, but except that- there has been an increase of cloud amount in the Dominion, the weather has continued to be mostly fine and warm.
