PRACTICE NETS

The position in wheh cricketers are placed this season in having to erect their nets fbr practices was discussed at some length 'at last night's meeting o£ the Wellington -Cricket Association's Management Committee. A complaint in connection with the matter was lodged by the University Club, and during the discussion the position as it affected the Kilbirnie Club was stated by a member.' It was pointed out, however, that the City Council had been approached by .the association on the'matter, and that, on account of shortage of labour, the present

arrangement could not be varied. With, regard to the erecting of overhead nets, the council was prepared to meet the wishes of the association provided that the cost of erecting these nets (10s per week) was found by the clubs concerned. Notification to • this effect is to be given the clubs.
