Very great interest is being created in the Mayor's Happiness Week for the purpose of raising, money for his distress, fund.' .'The public of Wellington have responded in no uncertain manner, and everywhere people are talking of the various activities which go to form the main campaign,. and, are participating and purchasing tickets for the many .prizes, concerts, and- various functions which teh. ■"committees representing each, 'of ithe five queen candidates are Holding :frpni day-to.'day."

There is no doubt that this campaign .is/giving -business an impetus just at a tome when the shops are looking for,ward,to. an .increased ..turnover, . and everyone is ;■ joining into make the Mayors.Happiness Week an unqualified success. . During the coming /week, from; all ; appearances Wellington -will react generously to- sunny- entertain•ment, all in aid of the Mayors' Distress Fund. Details of the various entertainments and functions being- held are advertised in the amusement columns. A special '.'News of .Happiness Week "'has been published, and will be on. sale to-morrow. Everyone is urged to obtain a copy, so that they will be posted regarding the full programme of Happiness Week events.
