Matthew Prust Stewart, aged 37, a solicitor, to-day admitted stealing £2161 of his clients' funds, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. One client, a farmer. 75 years of age, said that he instructed the accused, in whom he trusted, to invest £,700 on mortgage. He received three payments j of-interest oh the supposed mortgage, but eventual])' discovered that his name j did not appear on it. ■ The accused was allowed bail in £500.
