AUCKLAND GETTING READY
Large quantities of wool are now coming forward to the Auckland merchants', stores in readiness for *-he first Dominion sale of the season, which is to be held'in Auckland on-Fniday, 2nd December. So far as can be learned at present it would appear that'the clip has been grown and • shorn under favourable conditions, and the quality of the offering is likely to be the best marketed in recent years, states, the '"Star." So far no advice has been received from the New Zealand Wool Committee as to the quantity that may be auction--1 ed at the local sale. At this time .last year Bradford tops •were quoted at'lid to 13Mid per lb for 40's to 50's. To-day the', corresponding figures are 9d to 12% d.' At the first Auckland sale last year the average realisation was 3d per'lb. The value of wool exported from New Zealand for twelve months ended 30th September -was £5,459,067. For the same period in 1930-31 it .was £5,510,326, and for ■■:' 1929-30 £8,357,860.
