SYDNEY COMMENT
ANYBODY'S GAME
BOWLERS' TRIUMPH
(Eeceived 23rd November, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Commenting on the match, England v. An Australian Eleven, which ended yesterday at Melbourne, the cricket writer of the "Sydney Morning Herald" states that, apart from other surprising features, the match was marked by rremarkable bowling performances. Larwood was the star for England, while Nagel, Oxenham, and Ironmonger performed exceedingly well for the home eleven.
Nagel's success in routing England on a good wicket is hailed with delight by old players who have'regretted the passing of the spin and flight school of medium paced bowlers.
The "Daily Telegraph" considers that as tilings were <?oing it -was fortunate that .rain came on. AVith AVoodfull and Bradnian out, defeat seemed to be staring it in the face.
The "Labour Daily" says that after the dismissal of Bradman and Woodfull it was anybody's game.
