SILVER SCORN SOLD
SYDNEY --'MAN'S PURCHASE
JWO THOUSAND' GUINEAS
■■"•". (By Telegraph.).. , . . (Special to "The Evening Post.'") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The unbeaten three-year-old filly, Silver Scorn, has been sold by her breederowner, Mr. G. Murray Aynsley. The purchase price is 2000 guineas. Negotiations were begun .last month on ■ behalf of a Sydney ■ sportsman, but the offer to sell was open only until general entry "day for the Canterbury Jockey ■ Club's Meeting. Nothing came of the inquiries by then, so. the filly was raced -by Mr. Murray Aynsley at Riccarton, where she won four races.
The negotiations for her "purchase were resumed during the meeting, but a delay occurred owing to a difference between the parties concerning, the exchange, . -which is an important consideration these days. Eventually the Sydney ; .nian, as a result of cable messages, aereed to the seller's terms, which stipulated for New . Zealand currency .with delivery at the seller's Ricearton stable. The price was allowed to remain as when the negotiations were started last month, but in the interval the seller has had his four ■Bins for stakes totalling £1155. ' ' ' AH that remains now is for Silver Scorn'to. pass a veterinary-examination, ■which should not be a serious obstacle. .The buyer's; name is given- as. F. T. Cush, but possibly he is only an agent. He is the Sydney trainer who trained .Chide when that horse, was purchased from Mr. Murray Ayn?ley by Mr. T. C.'Trautwein three years ago, and it may turn out that Mr. Trautwein. is the new owner of Silver Scorn,, who is related to Chide, their dams being sisters. Silver Scorn may not .leave . for . Australia for some time yet. It is a condition of the : «ale that, she remain in her present quarters and' 'race' "in ' some' of her immediate New Zealand engagements Mr. Murray -Aynsley will -therefore con-' tinue to train; her- for. the time being, and will take her to Auckland nest-month to run in .'the Great Northern" Derby on New Year's Day.' How long 'this arrange- ' ment is to last is not known at present, i but possibly, she will be shipped to Syd-j mey after contesting the Auckland classic. She has now had seven starts for seven wins, earning stakes totalling £1495. She is the best three-year-old filly j seen in these parts for many years. She I is a brilliant galloper who can 6tay.' j The price paid for her is. not much' more than a third of the amount paid -for Chide three years ago, but with reduced stakes selling values have changed. -I
