EXAMINATION PAPERS BAGS OF INSPECTORS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, This Day. The proficiency, examination papers "of one of Dannevirke's primary schools had an unusual experience yesterday, being stolen at a hotel where Inspectors'McCaski^l and Bissell were stopping, by a relief worker from camp, who said he wanted money. Two attache cases containing the papers were stolen, the first from Mr. MeCaskill's room and the other -from Mr. Bissell's. Mr. Bissell arrived on the scene, and, recognising his property, secured it after a struggle. He ' endeavoured to take the man downstairs, but had to leave him to get assistance. The thief got away by .the fire o-scape, but was intercepted by the licensee and handed to the police. The other bag was recovered in a shop, where it had been left in another part of the town. The papers were intact. The thief, Richard Reeves, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on each of two charges.
