CANBERRA, 20th Noyember.

The feeling ,ia growing among Federal politicians that there should be a' public inquiry into the Granites goldfield situation. A preliminary report by Professor Madigan has convinced Ministers and members on all sides of the House that unduo optimisim has been shown by certain interests in their descriptions of the field. Another report, by Messrs. Clark and Gibson, mining engineers, declared that the western ' {section waa . practically valueless.

The latest report is from Mr. G. Earnsay, who is working the eastern, section, He says that the leases are valueless.
