RIGHTS CHAMPIONED
(Received 21st November, 1 p.m.)
LONDON, 20th November. The "Daily .Mail" in a leader on Japan's reply, which the League Council considers to-morrow, demonstrates that right is on her side. - "It.is absurd to imagine that a strong central Government in China is possible without immense delay. Japan will- never tamely surrender her rights > because Manchukuo- would relapse into anarchy and ultimately fall into the hands'of the Soviet like Mongolia. Tho British boycott of Japan suggested by cranks siding with the Chinese warlords and Communists means war for ■ Britain against every British interest ! and ideal. The bellicose pacifists at Geneva must understand that Britain will not be dragged into a war with. Japan, whose mission in Manchuria is civilising and humanising."
