KARORI CLUB

The Karori Club containued its series of weekly competitions at Trcntliam on Saturday with a match at SOO and 900 ] yards. This was the club's first longrange shoot this season, and it was unfortunate that the weather conditions were | not favourable Cor these distances. A strong wind of the "fishtail" or "corkscrew ' type, which varied at quick intervals from about eight feet left deflection to about six feet right, proved a rigorous test of wind guessing, and more often than not beat the most experienced members. G. Parkinson and H. Nickless were most successful, the former being the only member to reach the club standard for 800 and 900 yards. He secures the handicap tropliy for the match. P. B. Goldfinch beat H. V. Croxton on the count-back for the scratch trophy. Detailed scores:— ■ '• 800 900 Hep. Tl. G. Parkinson 45 35 9 S9 H. Niekless 41 39 7 87 G. V. McNeil 42 37 7 86 B.
