WATSON'S APPEAL
HEARING NEXT WEEK
The suit of the jockey, Leonard H. Watson, against the Auckland District Committee, which' was referred last week to a special appeal committee, all technicalities being waived, will be heard in Auckland at 10 a.m. to-morrow week (29th November) by appeal judges yet to be appointed.
The action-is a claim1 for damages, and is a sequel to Watso-n's life disqualification following an inquiry intothe running of a race at Pukekohe on 7th March, 1931. Besides the claim for damages, Watson asserts that the disqualification is invalid .and should be rescinded. The parties and witnesses were present in Court at Auckland last Tuesday, but the hearing was not begun. After a long conference between, the parties it waa announced that; it had been. arranged- to submit the suit to a special appeal committee agreed on between the Racing Conference and Watson.
