(Written for the Fairy King.) A little boy was once asked by his1 teacher, tp describe a zebra, and ho said H was a donkey with a football jersey
Curious how the zebra is striped, lsn t it?—but that is called "prolcctivo colouration," and tho stripes that,make n. so conspicuous in the zoo conceal it when it is among the long grass. Zebras livo together in herds, ana the males will always fight in protection of the females and the young ones. •The greatest enomy is the lion. Liona are particularly fond of zebras, so they ilavo to keep on tho alert, ready to run as fast as possible directly they smell or sco danger.
