An exhibition, whi<;h will be Of outstanding, interest to women; Tias been organised by the 'Women's Institutes, and will, be opened; by Her Excellency the Lady Bledislo'e on "Wednesday next at t£e Dominion Farmers' Institute at 3 in the afternoon. The last exhibition made most people wonder at'the uses to I whieh "waste materials" were put, for with these clever people practically nothing is "waste."' They find a use for pine needles, sugar and flour bags, old felt hats, odd pieces that in most homes go to the destructor (from these delightful, warm rugs are made); old motor tires, and oddments of all kinds are made into useful things for the house,' or playthings for the 'children. At the forthcoming show a doll's house design will make a charming work basket, and the sheepskins cured by the women and formed into mats and cover's will have to be seen to be " believed. Many will have a special interest in th mattresses and eiderdown's made of wool, as for some time there has been a feeliiJg that the1 ordinary mattress could be improved uponby the use of New Zealand-grown wool. " A clever woman has made a'papier mache' jointed doll, and the dainty articles from pine needles are quite charming. It is hoped that while these unusual things are to be seen at the exhibition there will be a groat many people of both sexes who will take an interest in' the unique work of" the countrywomen, and will pax it a visit of inspection.- ■'"
