SHEEPSKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES.
The fortnightly sales of sheepskins, hides, tallow, and sundrieo were held yes> terday before the usual attendance of exporters, tanners, and the local trade. Large catalogues of all grades and descriptions of sheepskins were submitted, competition all through being keen, especially on sound pelted parcels. Dry skins showed a slight improvement, prices being par to %d better than late rates. As there was only a small offering of salteds, it is difficult to give any-reliable quotations. ,
Good catalogues of hides were again offered, well conditioned lots coming in for special attention. The inquiry was for all grades, heavies appreciating %d to %d, medium and lightweights %d to 3-Bd. Kip. and yearling met. a stronger market, prices generally being %d to %d better than previous quotations, while calf soldi on a par, 6-81b selling from 4 5-8 d to C'/id, l-51b 2%d.'to 5%d.

The following is the range o£ prices:— Sheepskins:—Halfbred, 3d to 4%d; fins cressbred, 3%d to 4%d; medium crossbred. 2%d to 3%d; coarse crossbred, 2%d to 254 d; half-wools, 2d to 3%d; quarter-wools, l%d to 2%d; pelts, %d to 2d; salted pelts, 3d to' 7d; half -wools, 6d to Sd;' lambs, to 6d. . :
