Railway Publicity Photo. MADE IN NEW ZEALAND.— First of the new "K" engines built at the Hutt Railway Workshops. "K 900" underwent successful trials at Wellington yesterday, when this photograph was taken. Designed to give greater efficiency in fuel and running costs, this powerful locomotive is almost entirely New Zealand made. With the exception of a few special fittings, every part of its 136 tons was manufactured from the raw materials in the Department's workshops.
