OWNERS' OFFER REJECTED
THREAT TO CLOSE PITS

■ It'is reported that at a meeting of the Nightcaps Miners * Union to-day it was decided to carry on with tho strike. According to the report the owners offered.work to 18S of the 300 men on strilic, and indicated that in the event of the terms being rejected they would closo the.-mines'indefinitely; .. The men, who were circularised, it is stated, referred the matter to tho union, which has rejected tho owners' terms; The mines concerned arc the Mossburn, the Linton, and the Warake, all at Ohai... ;
