WRESTLING

DETTON BEATS ELLIOT

(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") . MASTERTON, This Day.

Caught in a hammer-lock hold in his match against Dean Detton (13st 61b) at Mastetron last night, King Elliot (13st Sib) did not surrender quite soon enough, and the muscles .of his arm were so badly wrenched that he was unable to continue when the gong went for the fifth round. The bout, which was easily the best yet seen in Masterton, was awarded to Detton. The wrestling throughout was highly spectacular and exciting. The four rounds were -packed full of thrills. Elliot was a trifle unfortunate in not being able to continue as he had a submission fall to his credit in the second round and was well ahead on points. ■ . .
