The centre of the present anti-cyclone Is now passing east of northern New Zealand, while a fairly steady fall In pressure has been taking place in the far South with the approach of a westerly depression. So far, however, the lattor has had very little effect, except to cause northerly winds to freshen at times in and south of Cook Strait: ' In the northern half of the North Island winds have been southwesterly and mainly light to moderate. Fine, Pleasant weather has continued to prevail over the Dominion as a whole, and temperatures have been gradually rising. TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
