BURGLARS ABOUT

MASTEETON, This Day.
Having carefully worked away the putty of a window at the rear of Mr. "W. "Wilkinson's grocery shop in. Queen street, Masterton," on "Wednesday night, a burglar removed tho. glass and entered. He took the precaution of securirig the catch of the front door, so that it could not be opened from the outside. Ho took 18s, the contents of tho till, but no stock.
The proprietor of a confectionery shop next door heard a noise about 9.30 p.m., but thought it was Mr. Wilkinson. He hit tho wall and called out. This, it is believed, disturbed the intruder, who left by tho way he entered. ; The grocery shop of Mr. H. Knutson, Carterton, was broken into on Wednesday night. A small quantity of tobacco was stolen.
