THEATRE SUPERVISION
ALLEGED OVERCROWDING
It was decided by the City Council last evening to request the Fire Board to authorise an officer of the Fire Brigade to swear informations prepared by the City- Solicitor in connection with the alleged overcrowding at the Grand Opera House on 24th August Councillor H. A. Huggins ,said that the circumstances were such that some action had to be taken. When the Fire Board officers were asked!to swear informations they refused to do so ; «£«,%!" (Mr: T- °- A- Hisl°p); said that the position was rather uiteresting. At a particular performance m the Town Hall not very long agoithe Placed was packed to the door! andthe corridors also were crowded There was not even a report by the Fire Board.. The ''performance" happened to be a wrestling contest. Councillor C.H. Chapman: MP su <^ gested^ facetiously,-., that'aipec"!lexemption applied.
