ANOTHER FAST TRIP
MONOWAI REACHES
SYDNEY
-,The.present holder of the records for the eastern and western crossings of the Tasman. uSea, the Union Steam Ship Company's Eoyal Mail' steamer Monowai, ended another fast trip by reaching Sydney at noon to-day from Wellington. The Monowai left Wellington at 3,30 p,.m.p,n Tuesday, and according jto ; schedule was due to arrive at Sydney at 7 a.m. to-morrow. .
The Monowai has completed her last trip in the transpacific mail service for some months, as next week she will enter the intercolonial service, including Melbourne .as a ,por,t of- call, for the summer period. ]. ... During June, July, .and August she will relievo the Niagara and Aorangi in the Vancouver service, while they undergo their, periodical overhaul and survey. The Monowai is to leave Sydney next Friday.for Auek; land, and will leave there on Ist Decembe.r for Sydney :and Melbourne, returning thence to Auckland via Sydney and Wellington.
