NEW ZEALAND SOCIETY
The annual meeting of the. New Zealand Church Missionary Society was held in 'Wellington yesterday. In past years the meetings have been held in Nelson. A resolution was passed that the headquarters be transferred to Wellington The president, the Eight Rev. Dr. C. W Sadlier, Bishop of Nelson, said that the society had missionaries in China, India, ar>d Africa. Because the headquarters of the society was in Nelson, people were inclined to consider it a purely Nelson society, and a' feeling had been-growing that a central office was needed.

Usher (Nelson), it was decided that the executive should in future meet in Wellington, and that its first business should be to decide when and how headquarters shallbe transferred to Wellington. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Bishop Sadlier (reelected); committee, Mrs. F. B. Corder (Nelson), Mrs. E. Hardy (Sumner), Miss A. E. Baker (Parnell), Miss B. Humphries (Lower Hutt), Messrs. R. Bargrove (New Brighton), G. C. Edwards (Wellington), J. Snell (Heretaunga), Yen. Archdeacon T.-J." Smith (Wakefield), Revs. H. E. X Fry (Wellington), F. C. Long (Wellington), and E. C. W. Powell (Sydenham); auditor, Mr. K. S. Palmer (Nelson).
