CHINESE LOSSES BY FIRE

(By Telegraph.—Press Association). : DUKEDIN, This Day. So swift was the destruction by fire of an old wooden seven-roomed house near Outram yesterday afternoon that only three of eleven Chinese occupants who were working in a nearby market garden were able to save their personal property. One Chinese retrieved £78 m notes from the blaze.

The fire started in a washhouse. Jk. strong wind was blowing, and the plao« was gutted in ten minutes.
