At the Albert Hall, in a fifteen rourjfls bout, MeCorkindale beat Cook. /Slue towel was thrown in in the tenth rc«md after., the referee's examination of Cook's injured eye.
.Cook and McCorbindale both weaghed 13st 101b. MeCorkindale was tetter in the early rounds. Immediately aggressive, he steadily bombarded the Australian, whose heavy swings were easily evaded. Cook in the fifth 53»,00k MeCorkindale, who recovered well, and delivered one of his famous right-hand "haymakers," which would have downed other heavyweights. Cook kept his feet and continued gamely until the eighth, in which ' one particularly savage right caught MeCorkindale iajillon the jaw. •
McCorkindale now proved his superiority. Iv the ninth he damaged Cook's eye, which was streaming blood when they began the tenth. Cook, desjvite his handicap, fought furiously, forcing MeCorkindale to the utmost exertions to defend himself. It was a terrific encounter, loudly applauded.
