HUTT VALLEY SWIMMING CLUB
The annual general meeting of the Hutt valley Amateur Swimming and Life-sav-ing Club was held on Thursday night. Mr. K. Mclntyre presided. The opinion was expressed that'the swimming baths now in course of construction at Petone would be of great help to swimming in the Valley, i It was,decided to send letters of appreciation to, Mr. H. Tremewan, Mr. W. Girling, and Mrs. Price for their services to the club. Appreciation o£ the work of the Ladies' Committee was al*> voiced. .•■:■•
. It was recommended to the incoming committee to hold a membership drive. A vote of thanks. was accorded the Borough Council for the rise of the rooms. New members elected included Miss N. Stratton, Dominion women's champion. Officers for the coming year were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. V. Kiddiford; president, Sir Alexander Roberts; vicepresidents, Messrs. W. Blakist'on, B. Ginger, D. Jameson, W. Nash, A. F. Thompson, B. Warnes, 0. <W. J. Simpson, A. Mcßain, Mrd. Price, and Dr. Fenwick; hon. secretary, Mr. N. Oldershaw; ion. treasurer, Mr. D.i Milne; delegates to centre, Mr. H. E. Edwards and Mr. N. Oldershaw; club captain, Mr. H. E. Edwards; vice-captain, Mr. TEL Warnes; committee, Messrs. K. Mclntyre, W. Bousefield, A. Boag, O. Dunford, S. Little, A. McKay, K. Sweetzer, Mrs. Mclntyre, and. Miss* Morrison. , ■ .!
