BELFAST DISTURBANCES
TOM MANN DEPORTED

BELFAST, 14th October. The Government announces an allround increase in relief of 40 to 60 per cent,, and no victimisation of the strikers. The corporation is providing additional .work, of which, the Government is paying half cost. These arrangements are expected to avert a general strike.
Mr. Tom Mann attended Baxter's funeral, after which the police detained him and escorted him to the boat for deportation fifteen hours after his arrival in Ireland.
