BILL NOT INTRODUCED

By 42 votes to 29, the House of Eepreservatives yesterday afternoon refused Mr. J. McCombs (Labour, Lyttelton) leave to introduce the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, which provided for the repeal of the amendment passed last session of Parliament when the principle of compulsory conciliation and optional arbitration was established.

After Mr. McCombs had replied to the arguments against the amendment, the division wasv taken. Messrs. H. Atmore (Independent, Nelson), G. C. C. Black (Independent, Motueka), A. M. Samuel (Government, Thames), A. J. Stallworthy (Government, Eden), E. T. Tirikatene (Independent, Southern Maori), C. A. Wilkinson (Independent, Egmont), and B. A. Wright (Government, Wellington Suburbs) voted with the Labour Party.
