ANIMAL POISONING
(To the Editor,)
Sir,—With reference to the recent rather wholesale cat poisoning it >vould be helpful to draw public* .atentiony to the fact that laying, strychnine is a legally punish^ able offence.- , Poor puss unfortunately- has not the, nine 1 lives '.attributed by>aricient legend! Cats- are ■very -bad -subjects forpoisony and1 if not treated immediately seldom recover. ,; The person .wno.lays' the poison goes array and thinks no. more' of it—but r am. convinced, that .if the greatest animal hater would wait' and actually see the_ resultant- appalling suffering caused by indiscriminately administered poison tne offence would not be repeated.. If life must be taken, for. pity's sake'let'it "be" done in'a way that is painless ,and 'instantaneous.—l am, etc., ..'.•>" :.■■■■■•■"
