BILLIARDS AND SNOOKER
Some very even and closely contested games were played last night in the first series of games in the newly-formed City and Suburban Billiards and Snooker League. Following are the results:— Lyall Bay drew with City, S games each; Brooklyn beat Empire, 10 games to 6; Alpha beat Miramar, 15-1, National beat P. and T., 11-5; Victory beat V.M.C.A., 12-4; Queen's beat Island Bay, 11-5- Kilbirnie beat Midland, 9-7. ; The second series of first-round games will be played next Thursday, as follows (home teams mentioned first):—National y.
