DEMAND FOR OVERTIME
WATERSIDERS WALK OFF

(By Telegraph.—Press Association;) NEW PLYMOUTH, 12th October. When half an hour's work remained to complete the loading of the steamer Earanga/at 10 o'clock to-night, one of the gang of watersiders demanded to bo paid for two hours till midnight. The stevedore went away to consult the owners, and when ho returned the men were walking off the ship. The remainder of the pork and cheese was returned to store.
Already this year 160 foreign firms have, taken sites or factories and arranged to/ produceHhek goods-in Britain.
