The committee of jurists, appointed by the Budget Committee, ruled that the League of Nations had no legal! right to reduce its officials' salaries. Thus the British proposal of a 10 per cent, reduction applies only to future contracts,' but five of the largest of the contracts are shortly due for renewal.
