NO REDUCTION THIS YEAR
IN JUSTICE TO BOND-
HOLDERS
(By Telegraph.)* >■■;-::- ---(Special to "Tha Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Bay-, At the first meeting of the Thames Borough Advisory Committee, the Commissioner, Mr. C. L. Grange, discussed the estimates, which were adopted. The estimates provide for a rate of 2s 6d in the & on unimproved values. The Commissioner said, he felt that a rate of 2s 6d would not meet with the approvall of a great many people in the borough. In most towJis^in' the Dominion there. had been little- .'or no reduction in the amount* of rates levied for the past two or three years. Thq people of-Thames could not, in justice to the bondholders, expect a sweeping reduction, in view of the ". borough't financial obligations.
