. VICE-REGAL. The Governor-Generai and Lady Bledisloe returned to Wellington yester■!day afternoon from a visit to Nelson •and Pictou. Last evening Their Excellencies attended the De Luxe Theatre, where the two British films, "England Awake" and "Lucky Girl" comprise the main features of the programme. . Sir William Hunt, aceompauicd by Lady Hunt, returned to -Wellington froui the South Island to-day. ■ A tribute to the work of Mr. C. I. Dasent, formerly secretary of the New Zealand Acclimatisation Societies' Association and the Wellington Acclimatisation Society, who attended the conference of the association to-day, was paid by the chairman (Mr. L. O. H. Tripp), who also welcomed his successor, Mr; E. J. C. Wiffen, whose services, he said, they were fortunate to have. ' ■ ..." Mr. P. J. McLean, chairman of the Greymouth Harbour Board, is at' present visiting Wellington. A motion of sympathy was passed by the Hutt Biver Board last evening with Mr. J.Brassel, in the death of Hs wife: Mr. Brassel is an ex-member of the Board. 4 Mr. F. H. Bass, Wellington, will act as one of- the AVellington representatives of the Associated Chambers of Commerce at the annual conference to be held in Dunedin at the end of the month.
