A decision not ,to allow George Frederick, Hewer, aged 39, medical practitioner, his liberty on bail pending the hearing of charges of unlawfully using an instrument' and homicide was made by Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court to-ftay. When Hewer ,was placed in the dock Mr. Singer, his counsel, said that the Magistrate announced yesterday that he would consider cthe application for bail and give his decision to-day. Mr. Hunt: I have decided to refuse bail in this case. I can use my own discretion in. the matter. '. Mr. Hubble, of the Crown Solicitor's Office, who appeared for the police, said he would strongly oppose bail being allowed Hewer.
