GIRL GUIDE HANDCRAFTS

The Queen, Princess Mary, the Duchess of York, and other members of the Koyal Family sent examples of their own handiwork to the Handicraft Exhibition of tho London Girl Guides, which was opened recently by Princess Louiso Duchess of Argyll, states the "Daily Mail." '

The Queen gave a pale liluo shawl crocheted by herself; the Duchess of York a pair of shooting stockings she had knitted; Princess Mary (who is president of the Guide movement) sent a stool she had worked in petit point; Princess Beatrice painted two watercolour sketches; Princess Louise showed examples of her bronze work; ana Princess Arthur of Connaught also exhibited petit poiut. Lord Baden-Powell, the Chief Scout, sent two of his water-colour sketches, and among the exhibits of the Guides was a bronze horse modelled by his 14----years-old daughtor, Heather BadenPowell.

A remarkable exhibit was a model of Drake's famous ship, the Golden Hind, which had been constructed by tho Sea Bangers of Cricklewood, N.W., after six months 5 study of old prints and ancient log books.

Other interesting models were a village made 'entirely from match boxes; a hospital ward complete with nurses, patients, fruit, and flowers; and a camp correct to the smallest detail, with miniature food made of painted dough, and cooking utensils made : from the tops of tooth-paste tubes.
