ON WINGATUI TRACKS
DUMBLANE GOES SORE

DUNEDIN, This Day. After heavy rain the tracks were a little slow at Wingatui this morning, but, being an off morning, there was very little fast work done. The trestles •were about 45 feet out from the rails on the course proper.
Fair weather and Gold Paper xan half a mile, the last three furlongs in 39sec. Both are well, and they moved attractively.. Captivate and Al Jolson finished together over six furlongs in lmin 22sec. The former is the first of the visiting norses to arrive, and, according to his trainer,.has not done much fast work On cooling down after his good'gallop with Glenrowan on Saturday morning Dumblane was found to be sore, and will not be a starter at the meeting Evening ran the last three furlongs 01 halt a milo on the plough in 40sec Hot Tea ran half a mile on the outside in 53sec.
A large number of horses were exercised at from half to three-quarter pace.
