FIRE BOARD INQUIRY

SUPERINTENDENT DISRATED

DEPUTY DISCHARGED

Following upon allegations made by an officer of the Central Fire Brigade regarding the unusual supply and use of petrol and spare parts, tho Fire Board has for some time been inquiring into records of such issues, and at a meeting this week resolved to disrate the Superintendent, Mr. J. Creeko, and to discharge Deputy-Superintendent Clark.

It is. understood that the matter is also being inquired into by the Audit Department.

A "Post" reporter, gathered that allegations made had reference to the use of petrol or stores by others as well as those more immediately connected with the brigade. A r "Post" reporter was told to-day that no statement from the board was available at present, though possibly a statement would be made later.
