MOTHERS' CLUB PROTEST
A meeting of tho Free Kindergarten Mothers.' Club was held yesterday -when the following resolution was passed:— "Resolved that this United Mothers* Club,~-which-is representative of the mothers' of the: children attending- tho free kindergartens in Wellington City and suburbs, respectfully dra.ws the attention of the Minister: of Education to the" wonderful contribution' that tho free kindergarten has for years made to the educational and social wellbeing of the children and the home life in the various districts concerned. Tho parents' have substantially supported the work (voluntary) since it commenc ed in this city, and are more than ever willing to continue this support. They are convinced, however, that tho Minis; ter's decision to withdraw all financial support will seriously cripple the work generally, and they earnestly request that ho reconsider the position with a view to the possibility, of > giving a more-proportionate reduction, and not a total withdrawal of Government assistance." Copies of ,this resolution will be "orwardea ito, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, tho Minister of Public Works, and Unemployment,' and'the Minister of Finance. ,
