AERIAL HOLIDAY

A WEEK OF FLYING

After an aerial holiday lasting a little over a week, during which he flew extensively over the North Island, Mr. IV H. Gardiner, a member of the Wellington Aero Club, arrived back at Bongotai on Thursday. Altogether Mr. Gardiner spent about 16 hours, in the air, and covered approximately a3OO miles. _ He left Wellington a week ago on Thursday and flew to Wanganui via Palmerston North. The following day' he: flew to Auckland via New Plymouth and the West Coast. He spent a few days m Auckland, and in that time made a trip to Hamilton and back. The return trip to Wellington was made via Hamilton, Eotorua, , Taupo, Napier, Hastings, Dannevirke, Palmerston North, ana Wanganui. He arrived at Wanganui after being shr 40min in the air. He spent the night there, and left on the following day for Wellington, but was held up by rain and clouds at Foxton. He returned to Palmerston North, ana came on to Wellington the nest day via the Wairarapa During the trip Mr. Gardiner took several aerial photographs which will be very valuable to the club. This is the first time a member of the club has used ono of the club's machines for an extended holiday trip. Ifrior" to the tour Mr. Gardiner had had under 30 hours of flying experience.
