ATHLETIC SPORTS

TO-MORROW'S MEETING

, It is anticipated that the sports meeting to be held under the auspices ot' the Wellington Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association at. Athletic Park to-morrow afternoon will be the most attractive to date this season. Athletes and cyclists have had opportunities in plenty of getting into top form, and, with the provincial and national events near at hand, to-morrow's meeting affords the competitors an excellent chance of revealing their best form. Championship conditions will be applied in many of the events, as much of the competition is to be for the Dewar Shield, and this in itself should account for outstanding performances. The leading athletes should provide some fine racing, while the cyclists, too, should be seen in keen tussles. The half-mile, with Ogg, Watson, and Harding all off the same mark, will be but one of many interesting contests, and the running of G. Bayne iv the one mile event will also attract keen attention. At the outset of the meeting "the competitors will participate in a parade, led by the Miramar Band.
