SYDNEY, This Day.
Mr. Don Harkness, designer of the speed car with which Mr. Norman Smith is to make an attempt on the milo record on Ninety-Mile Beach, replying to comment on the system of radiation, said that the original! radiators of Mr. Smith's car were designed to give efficient cooling at approximately 250 miles an hour. "I am confident that this system would have proved itself with water, or, should the necessity havo arisen, ethylene-glycol could have been substituted," said Mr. Harkness. "The chemical- cooling system never wont beyond the experimental stages, as the cost- of gas was out of the question with the limited money' at our disposal. Therefore I designed the two radiators referred to."
