PRESIDENT'S RESIGNATION
In forwarding his resignation is picsident of the Auckland Racing Club, -which •nas accepted at a meeting of the club's committee on Monday, Sir Edwin Mitchclson wrote asf follows. —"Ap in less than three months fiom now I shall ha\e enteied my 87th year, I feel that the time has arrived for my retirement after having served, the-club for 49 years. 'As a matter of fact, owing to my age, I have for several yeais past been anxious to retire from the r position that I have held bo long in order to make way for a younger man, hence my desire now to retire In doing t>o I wish to thank the secretary and the members of the1 committee over which it htis been my lot to pieside for so many jears for'ihe help and consideration that ha-ve invariably been shown to me.'
