HAYMAKING MISHAP

MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED

WHAKATANE, 3rd February. '& middle-aged farm hand named Peter Donnelly met with a serious accident while haymaking on Mr. D. L. Murray's property at Thornton to-day. The breaking of a rope caused a stacker to fall, striking Donnelly and fracturing his skull. He was conveyed to the Whakatane Hospital, and his condition is reported to be serious.

The injured man came from Ireland a few years ago, and had been employed hy Mr. Murray for two years.
