It is claimed that, this will be the first occasion on which a hurdle contest for girls has been held at a big sports meeting m Wellington, and the event is bound to attract keen interest. Many other events will contribute much to a meeting which promises to be the best to date this < season. , Numerous Scratch events'are included "on the programme, and in these the efforts to improve Dewar Shield positions should account for \eiy keen competition, with performances which should give a; good idea' of Wellington's prospects at -the national meeting nc\t month. Apart from the relay racing for the Heenan and Oates batons, the scratch events will include 220 yards BSO yards, three miles, ]20 yards hurdles, and nalt-mile, nnd one mile cycling. The programme will commence-with a, grand parade of athletes. , , . *
