LODGE MEETINGS
There vvas a good attendance at the monthly meeting of Wellington District Lodge, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., the District Deputy Grand Master (Bro." G. F. Kudkin', P.C.P.) presiding. Reciprocal teasonul greetings Were received from a number of other districts and kindred societies. Accounts totalling £53 were passed tor payment; Challenges for the district cribbage and "500" 'shields lroni Cleveland and Kupc Lodges were, approved,:and results of pieceding competitions lor thc-ie trophies were lecorded. Reports were adopted re halt-yearly membeiship leturns, entries for term ritual competitions, aunual picnic, official handbook, accommodation, and unemployed menibeis' dues fund.' Members of three subordinate lodges were advanced to the ,first degree by the Degree Master (Bro.'P. J, Lee, CVP.). First nominations of officers ior the ensuing twelve months were taken, lhe D.D.G.M. tendered thanks to district offieeis and special deputies tor visitations during January, and announced a programme of inter/lodge, visits, and officiaj visits by district officers during Febi uai'y.
The tenth annual picnic of the city and suburban 1.0.0. F. lodges at Karori. Park, Anniversary Day, proved a "brightest and best," owing to the ideal weather and large attendance pf members, children, and friends. Sister J. Tabiwi,. Cal\er, bistei E Scoumge, lust j ear's winner being second 'Lhe Sub oidmite Lodge!.' Chumpionship Cup (100 yards) was aKo iccaptmed tor Wildej Lodge, Bro. J Hartiidge being the winner. The Rebekah Keliy Baton (2JO jaids) was letamed bj Rabm Rebrkih Lode, three teams com voting, and the the Suboidmate Lodges' Rehy Baton (140 >ards) was won by Southern Cioss Lodge, b\e teams x competing BeJevue Lodge (Bio It Macdon aid, skipper) won the tug of war championship, four teams competing. The Kilbirriie Tent, Independent Order of Recnabitci. held their met meeting oi the year on Monday, 25th Januai.v, when there was a good assembly of mcmlieis Bro. F Johnson, C R .occupied the chin Bro Wilson, Piov CX, and Bro Jefferles. P.P.C.R, were present, and Bro Johnson welcomed them on behalf of the members. One member was reported Biek and two others had resumed their work. It was decided that names due for the honours board be added at earliest opportunity.
