Second Wind .is the third New Zea-land-bred horse to win'the King's Cup| in the six contests that have been held; He was 'bred at the Okawa Stud by Mr. T. H. Lowry, who sold'him'.tp-the West Australian sportsman, Mr. E. Lee Steere, after he had done some racing in New Zealand as a two:year-old. He has been a great bargain for Mr. Les Steere, and among his most notable efforts have been his win in the West Australian Derby and a-second to Phar Lap in the Melbourne Cup, November twelve months ago. In the last Melbourne Cup he finished eighth. Yesterday's was the first King's Cup he has contested, and he provided the handicapper with his stepping-off mark.
