LOSS OF M 2
UNUSUAL FEATUEES
CAUSE STILL A MYSTERY

LONDON, 2nd February. In the House of Commons, the First Lord of the Admiralty, Sir Bolton Eyres-Monsell, after detailing the circumstances of the loss of submarine M 2, said that the complete absence of floating i wreckage, oil, or air bubbles was an unusual feature. When the last obstruction was located the cap of: the coxswain of the M 2 was found floating in the sea, while under the sea was found a canvas bag containing the submarine's hand flags and a petty officer's collar. A full inquiry would be heid at' the earliest moment, but until the Jf2 was found and examined the cause vt the disaster would remain a mystery.
