A sub-committee of the Wellington Fire Board, set up to inquire into the financial aspects of the proposed acquisition of a lease of the present Central Fire Brigade station, conferred on Monday with the Mayor, Mr. T. C. A. Hislop. Mention of tho matter may bo made at Thursday's meeting of the City Council. The council's share of the maintenance of tho brigades this year is £15,000, but there is an offset of £2400 for rent of the Central station.
